“I was born in Cue in 1941. My Mother was from Meekatharra and my Father from Quairading. My language is Yamatji. I learnt my art through my mother who was very talented artist. I am a member of the Jilbirri Weavers group which have travelled to New Zealand, Melbourne, Darwin, Sydney and Perth. I enjoyed travelling to Darwin because Fitzroy Express were playing and I danced all night. I enjoy weaving because it relaxes me and gives me something to do” – Avy Robinson.
If you love the work, its available in our online shop or at the Gwoonwardu Mia centre. Come visit to see all our incredible artists from the Gascoyne Region.
