Centre Hire Terms and Conditions
Bookings
Telephone Gwoonwardu Mia on 08 9941 1989 to book a room. At the time of booking a 25% deposit will be required. If no deposit is received by the due date on the invoice, the booking will be released.
Cancellation
If a booking is cancelled more than 1 month before the event the deposit will be refunded in full. If a booking is cancelled between 1 week and 1 month prior to the event the deposit will be non-refundable. If a booking is cancelled less than 7 days prior to an event the full venue hire fee will be payable.
Payment
An invoice for the use of the space and any extra costs, if applicable, will be sent to you and payment is expected within 30 days. Non-payment of room hire fees will render the Hirer ineligible for future hire of rooms.
Conditions of Use
It is the responsibility of the Hirer and/or their organisation (“the Hirer”) to set up for the event and to clean up after it. Should extra cleaning be required it will be charged to the Hirer. The Gwoonwardu Mia team is available to assist in planning your meeting or event.
Catering
The Gwoonwardu Mia café catering menu options will be listed on the website once the café is in operation. No food or drink is permitted in gallery areas unless specifically approved beforehand.
Smoking
All areas within Gwoonwardu Mia, including the Outdoor Performance space, are non-smoking. Smoking is permitted outside but smokers must be 5 metres from the building. Please ensure that cigarette butts are placed in the containers provided.
Alcohol and Drugs
Gwoonwardu Mia is an alcohol and drug free venue. It is the Hirer’s responsibility to ensure that all events are alcohol and drug free. Any breach of this condition will render the Hirer ineligible for future hire of rooms.
Deliveries
All deliveries for the event must occur within the opening hours of Gwoonwardu Mia (8.30am–4.30pm). Any deliveries outside these hours require prior arrangement with the Gwoonwardu Mia team.
Damage
Gwoonwardu Mia will not accept responsibility for loss or damage to equipment or property left on the premises prior to, during or after events. Any damage to Gwoonwardu Mia building, grounds or property will be the responsibility of the Hirer and the cost of replacement or repair will be charged to the Hirer.
Decorations
Candles, confetti, glitter and un-tethered helium filled balloons are not permitted. Tethered balloons may be used. Any additional cleaning required through the use of decorations will be charged to the Hirer.
Additional Charges
Events that begin or end outside of Gwoonwardu Mia’s normal opening hours of 8.30am–4.30pm may require the disarming and/or arming of the security system. The cost of each visit by security will be charged to the Hirer at $66 per visit.
